Do You Know The Warning Signs of Diabetes?

With the epidemic of obesity and heart disease running rampant across American society it might be of your personal benefit to be able to recognize the warning signs of diabetes. With diabetes a person’s body looses or is just completely unable to control blood sugar levels. Type 1 Diabetes is thought to be hereditary and is usually diagnosed in early childhood. Type 2 Diabetes may actually be caused by obesity and with twenty million Americans walking around with diabetes and only two thirds of those with diabetes being aware that they have disease it is important to be educated and to be able to recognize the symptoms of diabetes.

 

Frequent urination, excessive hunger or thirst, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, fatigue, rapid weight loss, stomach pains, and dry and itch skin are just of few of the major signs of diabetes. Many people do not realize this but they could have diabetes even if they are only experiencing one sign of diabetes. If you notice any frequent occurrence of any of these signs then you will need to see a doctor. It may or may not be diabetes but you could bet money that something is for sure wrong with your health and you need to have it checked out right way.

 

When experiencing a the warning signs of diabetes you might want to take special note as to how you are feeling and how your body is reacting. Also look back at your food history, did you consume an excessive amount of sugar? By being able to describe how you feel during the occurrence of a symptom and by being able to tell your doctor what you ate that day and how you were feeling before the symptoms occurred is crucial in helping your doctor diagnose your medical issue be it diabetes or something else.
