Oops! What dosage? Type I Diabetes Insulin Pen Injection
A 12 year old girl with Type I Diabetes shows you how she uses a Novopen to inject herself with insulin. She was diagnosed 6 weeks ago after losing weight rapidly and drinking water all the time.

i have a question, does type 1 diabetes do anything bad, except that the patient have to use that kind of pen and eat special food or something? does it harm body?
@hayleyxxxgosselin32 Lol never cried from a vaccine or injection in my life.
I’ve been diabetic for over 30 years now and that’s one thing I’ve NEVER been able to do… A belly jecky!
I wish I could go back on the pump as well. I was miles better controlled on that thing than doing 5 a day with the pen.
Look after yourself Shariko… I didn’t and now the price to be paid is rearing it’s head!!!
I am 21 years old.. I have had diabetes for 18 years… I got diagnosed when i was 3… I am really getting worried now that i am getting married and am scared of getting pregnant.. I am scared if the baby will be okey.. I would rather spend 9 months in the hospital
… I am still on the shots.. I dont use the the pump.. I hope they get a cure.. I eat everything like a normal person and i controle it with my insuline.. Now when i get pregnant i wont eat anything that i am not supoes to..

these are just great videos!!!
i am a diabetic too and have just started on the pump for 11 months now. Its a lot easier. i dont have to get 5 shots a day in my stomach and my leg. only 1 shot every 3 days in my leg. it makes a difference. If she ever wants to talk to me about diabetes just messege my channel. i have had it for 6 years so i will be happy to talk.
have a nice day.
oh , i had diabetes from when i was one and a half , almost 14 now =)
Thanks for your comment. Two years old seems so little to be going through all of that. Maybe one day we’ll sort out a pump for her. I think we have to learn a lot more first about how it all works. At the moment I’m reading the books by Dr Bernstein. Food for thought.
Hi, yes, we are from NZ. You mean you didn’t get the buzzy bee? lol
poor kid. man i remember when i would cry when i had to get injections because it hurt so bad! i was only 2. sbe should get the insulin pump i got one when i was 8 and i loved it! its very easy to use! =)
I use the same Novopen, They gave me the colourful one and the diabetic teddy bear even though i was 17 when i was diagnosed a year and a half ago lol. are you guys from NZ aswell?
nice video! What’s her name?
Only one time did I inject an insulin shot in my belly. Obviously, I didn’t get it in at the right spot because it pinched a lot. I haven’t done the belly since. Now, I stick (no pun intended) to arms and legs.
I feel soo sorry for her !
I have an phobia of injections and i admire you ! =)
Well done
Ok, now that’s just ridiculous! I know of MANY adults who use the 6mm ones and even the 5mm ones, just because that’s what fits them best. It has nothing to do with comfort, it has to do with how deep the needle has to go to reach the desired injection area in the subcutaneous tissue. Maybe I should call the NZ government and give them a lesson or two about diabetes supplies LOL Luckily those pen needles doesn’t cost much! (as far as I’ve seen)
Thanks, we are proud of her. She’s taken it all in her stride and seems to cope with it better than I do! I, her mother!
I’m glad the video helped.
The 6mm Novofine. It’s just the government doesn’t fund the shorter ones after they turn 13. I guess they think kids miraculously put on a lot of fat overnight one the day they turn 13. We’re paying full price for them in the meantime as I don’t see why she should be more uncomfortable just because the govt makes some arbitrary decision regarding funding.
Don’t seem to see any signs of infection. Just wash hands or use wipes when she pricks her finger to check blood, not to fight infection but to make sure there isn’t anything on the skin that affects the blood sugar reading. I think people can get too carried away – it’s not like she’s injecting into veins, it’s only into the fat.
do u use any alchol swabs.. ffs u get infections
